FAQ
What does my dancer need to wear?
Scroll until you see the Dress Code section of our competition contract here for our current dress code.
Before buying shoes, please contact us at dance@passedancecenter.com for guidance.
What should my dancer bring to class?
Dancers should bring their required footwear with them to change into at the studio. Dance shoes should NEVER be worn outside of the dance studio.
Dancers should bring a water bottle.
Please make sure ALL of your dancer's belongings are labeled with his/her name!
Always have hair tied back away from the face in a ponytail or bun. We recommend keeping extra hair supplies (hair ties, bobby pins, etc.) in your dance bag.
If props are passed out for a dance, these props need brought to each class in order to use during practice.
Always bring a smile, a positive attitude, and a good work ethic!
Is Ballet training mandatory?
All competition dancers (with the exception of those solely taking hip hop) will be required to take 1.5 hours of ballet training per week for this session.
Saturday ballet will be an option for your dancer’s ballet requirement as well as a class during the week. Dancers may choose either option or both options for those wishing to train more.
Is there an attendance policy?
Students can NOT miss more than five (5) of any one class per dance season, including ballet/conditioning. If a dancer misses more than 5 unexcused practices for the year, s/he may be removed from that group. This includes all injuries, sickness, vacation, school functions, etc. Dance requires consistent ongoing training, and dancers who excessively miss classes will not be able to perform at the same level as those who have attended all classes regularly.
Excused Absences: Passé Dance Center recognizes the importance of school work. Dancers are excused from class 2 times if it is approved 2 weeks before the missed class and is a school grade. Passé also recognizes the importance of time management and will not excuse dancers for procrastinating school work. ALL absences need to be excused at least 2 weeks before and may result in removal from the group if dancers do not adhere to this rule.
Tardiness: Punctuality is just as important as attendance, please be on time and prepared for class. Two (2) occurrences of tardiness will count as an unexcused absence.
Dancers MUST be present in ALL classes and rehearsals the week prior to every performance and competition. If a dancer does not attend class (including ballet) the week of any performance, including recital, that dancer will NOT compete/perform.
How long are classes?
Ages 8 and Under: All classes are 30 minutes, including ballet which is mandatory.
Ages 9+: Ballet classes are 1.5 hours and all remaining classes (including Pointe and Acro) are 45minutes.
How much does it cost?
Tuition is charged monthly based on the number of hours taken. Other details regarding fees are listed here.
Monthly tuition is the same each month, regardless of the number of classes held in that month. We take the total for the session and divide it into equal payments for your convenience.
Can I come into the studio?
At this time, no parents of competition dancers will be allowed in the studio.
How do I register?
Registration is online only. Competition team registration is based on age: Ages 8 and under and Ages 9+. You can register for classes here.
How many competitions will my dancer attend?
This season we will be attending 3 regional competitions, all local to Columbus/Zanesville.
